Welcome to the 2026-2027 Gladiator Sports Season
Gateway Charter School Athletics Behavior Expectations
At Gateway, we believe that participation in athletics is an extension of our educational mission, promoting teamwork, respect, and personal growth. We expect all players, coaches, and fans to uphold the highest standards of behavior to create a positive and supportive environment for everyone involved.
Please note: Game officials have full authority over the conduct of the game. All participants and spectators must adhere to the guidelines during play. Unruly fans or players who fail to maintain these standards will be escorted from the event.
For admittance to all sports events on the Gateway Campus, a valid I.D. and $2 per person must be presented at the door before entry to the gym. We accept cash or tap. Please make all potential attendees aware of these requirements. Thank you.
For Players:
-
Sportsmanship: Play fair, follow the rules, and respect the decisions of officials and coaches. The officials run the game; players must adhere to their guidelines at all times. Demonstrate humility in victory and grace in defeat.
-
Respect: Treat teammates, opponents, coaches, and referees with respect. Use positive language and encourage others on and off the field.
-
Responsibility: Be on time, prepared, and ready to give your best effort. Take responsibility for your actions, both in competition and in the classroom. Understand that disruptive behavior may result in removal from the game.
For Fans:
-
Positive Support: Cheer enthusiastically for our team and respect the efforts of the opposing team. Avoid negative comments, booing, or any unsportsmanlike behavior.
-
Respect for Authority: Show respect to all officials and their decisions. Remember that middle school athletics are about learning and enjoyment; any fan acting in an unruly or disrespectful manner will be asked to leave the premises.
-
Role Model Behavior: Set a positive example for our students by demonstrating the values of good sportsmanship and responsibility. Be mindful of the language and tone you use at games.

By adhering to these expectations, we can ensure that our athletic events are enjoyable, safe, and enriching experiences for everyone involved. Let’s work together to make Gateway proud both on and off the field.
Gateway Charter School students learn and participate in athletics, demonstrating their Gladiator Honor. Please make sure anyone coming to our events is aware of these behavioral expectations on our campus and when traveling to away events.
